Emily and her husband Casey are the owners of Fox Lake Equestrian Center at 5875 Fox Lake Rd in Goodrich, Michigan Emily has been riding and training her own horses for over 25 years and teaching independently for over 18 years. She specializes and has had much success in riding and training green horses and introducing them to the sport of eventing. As a Massachusetts licensed riding instructor and Provisional ICP Level 1 instructor, she enjoys teaching riders of all ages and those involved in Pony Club. Our passion is introducing young riders to correct and effective riding techniques.
Having competed through the One Star level on her own self trained OTTB, as well as campaigning many youngsters up the levels she is now focusing on teaching the next generations and managing the farm as well as raising her young children that you will often see around the farm and tagging along to horse shows.
Emily is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island with a Bachelors degree in Equine Business Management and Riding and Associates in Equine Studies. While attending JWU, she competed all across Area 1 while training under Tom Davis of Rehoboth, Massachusetts. While working under Tom, she had many opportunities to train with Denny Emerson, Andrea Waldo, Babette Lena, Denise Goyea, Scott Keach, Joe Forest, Fran Cross, and many more of the nations top clinicians. After Graduating from JWU, Emily moved to Cape Cod to manage a facility of 21 event horses. Along with managing the facility she taught many lessons of all levels including Pony Club and coached across Area 1 at competitions.
After relocating back to Michigan, Emily began focusing on coaching and competing a few green horses and has plans to continue this path looking for her next riding partner to move up the levels.

Miriam is a graduate of the Equine Studies program at Houghton University in New York, a CHA certified riding instructor, and a CHA Equine Facility Manager bringing with her a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of horse care, facility and program management, as well as riding, training, and instruction to our program.
Our riders all love her as much as we do for her patience and guidance for horses and riders alike. She spends her days teaching riders of all levels, riding our training and sales horses, organizing and managing our camps and children's programs, and so much more! We are lucky to have her as an integral part of our team!
